about
welcome

My name is Laura Cordero and I own Nourish2Thrive. As I mentioned before, I'm a Registered Licensed Dietitian and Nutritionist. I hold a degree in Nutrition from Michigan State University. I have worked in clinical acute care, fitness centers, weight management programs, and pediatric nutrition. The focus of my practice is to nourish you from the inside out by developing healthy habits, mindfulness techniques, and the openness to enjoy the lifestyle you live. And my goal is to encourage a sense of autonomy for you to create a positive relationship with food and develop personal goals.

I became a Dietitian initially to work in health care. I wanted to help people, but I learned the job is so much more than counseling on healthy ways to eat. Over the course of my career, I hear the phrase “I know what to do, I just don’t do it.” And from that, I learned that counseling doesn’t help you achieve goals. As a coach, we work together to formulate achievable goals and celebrate all the little milestones along the way.

As a mom of an active daughter and a wife of a busy husband, I understand that life gets in the way of goals, specifically self-care goals.  I understand that food battles are real with picky eaters. My daughter often says “I’m not picky,” but then says “Yuck, I don’t want to try that!”

As a teen athlete, I struggled with my body image as I tried to fuel my body for energy while worrying about my appearance. The struggles are real, but I’m here to reassure you that you or your loved ones can have a positive, long-lasting relationship with food, body image, and healthy habits.  There is not a single food or diet that will define your success versus failure.  I consider myself a foodie within moderation.  I credit my husband in expanding my taste of cuisines.  You can have flavorful food without the guilt!  Working together we will focus on a healthy lifestyle while nourishing the skin you’re in!

picky

When your kid is a "picky eater", some days you're happy they eat anything at all. But you know they can't live off of hotdogs and tater tots forever. Are you worried that your kids aren't getting the full nutrition they need in order to grow and develop?
